2024 was a year of growth, innovation, and discovery, not only for me personally but also for many in the real estate appraisal community. From tackling long-standing challenges to pushing the boundaries of technology, 2024 was about laying the foundation for a better future in our profession.
🚀 Advancing Real Estate Appraisal Technology
This year marked significant progress in developing a comprehensive appraisal analysis platform designed to empower appraisers with advanced tools and data insights. Features like Similarity Scores, Benchmark Price Indexing, and Geospatial Interfaces are rolling out. These tools aim to enhance the efficiency, consistency and reliability of appraisals while fostering collaboration for ongoing developments and enhancements.
The journey to create this platform continues to be as rewarding as it was challenging, requiring technical insights and a strong understanding of the current and future needs of appraisers. My commitment to this project reflects my belief in the transformative potential of merging modern technology with traditional expertise. This work will continue to be a cornerstone of my efforts moving into 2025.
🙌 Engaging the Community
Community building was a key focus of 2024. Whether through conversations with peers in appraisal, tech, or data analytics, or by addressing critical industry topics like housing affordability and trends, I was reminded time and again of the power of collaboration. The insights and shared learning from these interactions not only enriched my own efforts but also highlighted the collective strength of professional networks.
🏘️ Exploring Housing Market Dynamics
Housing market complexities have remained at the forefront of my work as an appraiser this year. By developing advanced methodologies to enhance market analysis, I have gained a deeper understanding of these dynamics. These insights enable more comprehensive reporting, featuring enhanced visualizations paired with clearly narrated yet concise summaries. This year’s work will undoubtedly inform and enrich my future assignments and analyses.
2024’s Highlights

🔭 Looking Ahead to 2025
The groundwork laid in 2024 sets the stage for ambitious goals in 2025:
- Launch the Appraisal Tool: My primary objective is to share the appraisal analysis platform with a broader audience, potentially through open-source or open-core models. Collaboration and innovation will be at the heart of this endeavor to see its ongoing support and development.
- Streamline Workflows: I plan to continue exploring ways to optimize workflows, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and deliver better client services.
